As 2015 quickly approaches, we are reflecting on the many great things that happened in 2014. We have so much to be thankful for this year.
This year, we released the National Vibrant Streets Toolkit. A 173-page manual that is applicable to communities and neighborhoods of any size, demographic, or socioeconomic level across the country, the Toolkit was our crowning achievement. We are so glad that many of you - across the nation and world - have already begun implementing steps from the toolkit in your own city.
We successfully completed our second round of implementation assistance for the DC Office of Planning, consulted with several more cities across the US, bolstered our social media accounts, launched a new website, and were selected as finalists for the UN-Habitat/The Guardian's World Cities Day. We spoke at leading conferences around the world, including the National American Planning Association Conference, Bilbao Urban Innovation and Leadership Dialogues Conference, and The Atlantic's Small Business Forum. Along the way, we trained 22 individuals in the Vibrant Streets methodology to serve as Vibrant Streets facilitators.
Most importantly, we made new friends, connected with incredible colleagues, and had the pleasure of working in some of the best communities around the globe. We are thankful for each of you, and can't wait to see what 2015 brings!
